Inverness Dental Centre provides dental care, dental training and dental education. The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) provide a three year course in Dental Therapy (BSc in Oral Health Science) after which dental therapists can perform dental procedures such as extractions and fillings under the supervision of a dental surgeon. Teaching of the course is carried out in state of the art facilities including 12 simulated heads which are all linked up through hi tech cameras, computer screens and video conferencing.

There is also a further 14 dental chairs which are used to train student dentists and dental therapists as part of the dental teaching school with final year students from the University of Dundee using the facility.
